Jon oversees the Division of Enrollment Management functions at UMA including Admissions (Augusta and Bangor campuses), Financial Aid, Registrar, and the Enrollment Services Centers "one-stop" offices.  His office also works closely with Student Accounts on policy issues and student appeals.  As Director of Admission, he works closely with staff in Augusta and Bangor to plan recruitment activities and ensure excellent service to our applicants.

Kathy Trask
Associate Director of Admissions

Kathy is responsible for the daily operation of the Admissions Office and oversees all recruitment and review processes.  She has a depth of experience in admissions unmatched at UMA.  Kathy also may review applications and works closely with the Maine Community College System in relation to transfer students.  She works closely with other administration offices and faculty in relation to the admissions process.

Tristan Starbird
Assistant Director of Admissions

Tristan reviews applications, meets with applicants, and assists prospective students with questions about the process.  Tristan supervises the Augusta Admissions Ambassadors while coordinating tours and campus visits for high schools and prospective students. Tristan travels extensively during recruitment season; you're bound to see him at a high school in Maine or a college fair. He is active in supporting the Athletics program at UMA and serves as Head Coach of the co-ed golf team and assists UMA Athletics with recruiting.

Gail Pelletier
Admissions Counselor

Gail is one of the two primary admissions counselors in our Augusta office. She reviews applications and meets with applicants and prospective students.  Gail coordinates various admission functions, as well as the awarding of the Presidential and Osher Scholarships.  She enjoys recruiting at high schools and adult education programs in the area.

Michael R. Cooley

Michael meets with students, applicants, and prospects. He travels to high schools and college fairs around the state sharing information about UMA and helping students with the college process. Michael coordinates the YoUMA summer camp program for aspiring high school students. He also reviews applications and coordinates Open House events on campus.

Kristen L. Duplessis

Kristen processes all re-admission applications, deferrals, reactivation forms and withdrawal requests.  In addition to being Office Manager, she supervises work study students and handles many administrative functions and duties including purchase orders and invoices.

Tia Cardillo

Tia is the "front line" person who answers the phone, greets visitors, and processes application documents.  She helps students with questions about the status of their applications and is a great first resource for students. Tia also assists with all of our outreach activities.

Joan Stewart

Joan is the primary receptionist and processor for the Admissions & Student Enrollment Services office at UMA Bangor.  She handles a wide range of duties supporting student applications, bills, and financial aid needs.

Margaret Titcomb

Peggy shares the responsibilities of the front desk with Joan, assisting students by phone or in person with questions about admissions, billing, and financial aid paperwork. She is our primary document imaging person, and assists with the administrative operation of the office.

Nicole Cloud

Nicole is an Admissions Counselor at UMA Bangor. She reviews applications, meets with applicants and prospective students, and assists with questions during all stages of the admission process.  Nicole coordinates application review for the Veterinary Technology program.  She conducts recruitment travel to area high schools, college fairs, and adult education centers to share her knowledge of UMA. Nicole is also invested in the UMA Bangor learning community as a part-time adjunct faculty member, occasionally teaching communications classes.

Kathryn Kevit

Kate is the senior manager of Admissions and Enrollment Services at UMA Bangor.  She coordinates the Bangor student Admissions Ambassador program, as well as the review for the Dental Health programs. Kate is the UMA coordinator for the North American Indian Tuition Waiver program, and serves on a number of committees and boards supporting UMA Bangor's outreach efforts.  Kate conducts recruitment travel and assists with all UMA outreach efforts in the region.
