Computer Labs
The University of Maine at Augusta has several state-of-the-art computer labs available for student use as well as for classes and training. The Computer Services Department maintains 4 student computer labs on the Augusta campus and 5 on the Bangor Campus.
Augusta Campus
- Room 253 Richard J. Randall Student Technology Center Classroom
Room 253 of the Student Technology Center is a classroom computer lab. Using these computers requires a current Student ID number or a University email account. For more information, call 621-3253.
The lab consists of:- 30 - HP 7800 with 3GB RAM, 80GB hard drive
- 19" Flat Panel displays
- HP laserjet printer
- Room 255 Richard J. Randall Student Technology Center Classroom
Room 255 of the Student Technology Center is a classroom computer lab. Using these computers requires a current Student ID number or a University email account. For more information, call 621-3253.
The lab consists of:- 30 - HP dc7700 computers with 2 GB RAM, 80.0 GB HardDrive
- 18" Flat Panel displays
- HP laserjet printer
- Richard J. Randall Student Technology Center Student Lab
The Student Technology Center Computer Lab is located in Room 127 of the Student Technology Center and is available for use only by currently registered students of The University of Maine System. Faculty and staff of The University of Maine System are also welcome to use the lab. Using these computers requires a current Student ID number or a University email account. - 1 - iMac 20", 2GB RAM, 320GB hard drive
(reserved for use by Art and Photography students only) - 19" Flat Panel diplays

- 2 HP laserjet printers
- 2 HP Flatbed Scanners

The Katz Library Computer Classroom, located on the second floor of the Bennett D. Katz Library, is used exclusively for classes and training sessions only. Please call Carol Welch at 621-3040 for more information on lab availability and scheduling.

Bangor Campus
The COMPUTER CLASSROOM is a 24-station pc teaching classroom located in the College Center room 119. The classroom is designed to be an ergonomically correct, relaxed, quiet space for computer instruction.
The COMPUTER LAB is a 15-station pc lab located in Eastport Hall room 135a. The lab is also designed to be an ergonomically correct, relaxed, quiet space in which to complete work. During most hours, a lab attendant is available for assistance. Printing is available to students through the Pay-For-Print program.
Both Augusta and Bangor campus are equipped with state-of-the-art networking services. Laptop user wireless access is available to all who have an active account within the University of Maine System. Authorization to connect wirelessly can be done via a self-registration process.

Internet:
All computers on campus have Internet access. For home use, students may obtain up to 100 hours a month of free dial-up Internet access. The University of Maine System has purchased Symantec’s Antivirus product; this software may be installed on one home computer utilized for University purposes, providing you are a registered student, faculty member, or employee of the University of Maine System. Access the Antivirus software at http://www2.umaine.edu/software/antivirus.html. University students may access their individual university e-mail account anywhere Internet access is available at http://mail.maine.edu.
